Chyavanaprasha is one of Ayurveda’s best-known Rasayanas, named after the sage Chyavana. B.V. Pundit’s prepares it in Nanjangud as a soft, dark lehya, taken by families as part of their daily routine, especially through the cooler months.

The wisdom of Amalaki

Amalaki, the Indian gooseberry, is among the most valued fruits in Ayurveda. It is the heart of Chyavanaprasha, joined by a long list of classical herbs and spices.

How it’s made

Fresh Amalaki and the herbs are cooked slowly into a rich lehya, following the classical method. It comes in 100 g, 200 g, 500 g and 1 kg jars.

Since 1913, B.V. Pundit’s has prepared classical Ayurvedic formulations with the same care for herbs, method and tradition.

How to use

1–2 tsp (10–20 g) in the morning on an empty stomach or after meals, with warm milk or warm water. Or as directed by your vaidya.
